There have been a lot of awesome tunes on this thread but have to say Blue Monday was a game changer for me,

I was a Rock Fan & despised Dance Music although I was comfortable with German electronica such as Neu!, Kraftwerk and the inevitable Tangerine Dream.

New Order completely blew me away, they mixed rock/electronica/dance and they were local boys (at the time) as well.

EDIT: Sorry Gillian - they weren't just boys of course! :facepalm:

The first new wave band to move to electronic dance. Someone told me recently that the legendary Georgio Moroder admitted that New Order influenced his future work. Until then, he was thought of as the godfather of electronic dance music.

We could easily have a whole new thread of favourite Talk Talk songs!

I think I'd rather see them reform than The Smiths or The Jam.

I think I read a while back that Mark Hollis retired circa 15 years ago, he actually meant it and has stuck to his guns.

Very unsual when all and sundry have made comebacks.
