A massive bag of food. God it would be beautiful. Most days the last year I've literally only eaten 400g of peanuts a day and when I don't, I only eat pasta and pesto. The thought of having HUNDREDS of ingredients almost brings tears to my eyes.

In slightly richer times it would have felt like buying... a printer? Generally useful thing you normally don't want to spend money on.
Do you literally mean literally? You live on peanuts alone for most of the time?? Wouldn't you get scurvy?

Are you sure you don't eat pizza as well?

Yes. I dunno, I guess? Coffe, cigarettes and peanuts probably isn't sustainable. I've lost around 30 kg the last year. Had a bit too many to begin with but starting look a bit bony now to the point where change is required.

My can-afford-pizza days are long gone.

When I get paid I spend like a Saudi Prince for two days on takeaways, alcohol and luxuries like a new game I want: then I panic and save all month.

Bloody hell. Are you OK mate?

Things must be pretty bad if that's your diet and all you can afford.

Apologies for a double reply. I thought I'd lost my Initial reply, but it's still there.

Probably buying 1/2 dozen quite expensive suits for my daughters wedding. Seemed like an awful lot of money to spend on clothes to someone who is happy to pick up a second hand jumper at a charity shop.

Yeah its ok. I got ripped off by a web hotel provider last year, meaning I've had a £2.5k debt to pay of while living on social welfare and the occasional writing gig.

But its fine, I'm accustomed to periodically living to various subspecies of cockroaches. It sounds, looks and smells worse than it is..

I'm getting a small culture grant to do a serious of podcast soon though and hoping to be able to use some of it to get a £100m-equivalent bag of food.
Thanks for asking,

And a mini-break in Sussex? 😄
Yep

back garden, walk along the seafront, wakehurst, Nyman’s, Shoreham board walk to lancing and pizza at the perch, cofee at Shoreham fort….retirement is f***ing brilliant ( if it wasn’t for this sciatica I have got which is killing me with pain in my hamstring and calf) 😞😞😞😞😞

I went out on a Sat morning for breakfast with the missus.... we headed into Taunton for a change,.. 6 hours later we returned home having bought a caravan for 16k, a 5 year old Audi Q3 for 19k and a new Corsa for 22k..... a bloody expensive breakfast trip, even in proportion probably nowhere near the Bloom expenditure.

Can your Audi q3 tow the caravan?

Last year, I was bidding, and won a Lambretta via the online jumble sale . . . . At the same time, I took a call and was offered a pandemonium of corrosion in the form of Scooters, 1950's French Lambretta from Troyes mostly. . . . . I spaffed £3k in a week 😳

5 weeks later I had a whiff over £3k back and the best one kept. For free.

I spaffed £3k turning the kept one into a weapons grade fast rally scooter . . . . And sold one I already had, as it wasn't original paint, or original UK registered from new . . . . ( these things matter apparently 🙄) and got£4500 . . . .

I've no idea where we are now, but I have a better LAmbretta in original paint as opposed to restored and I am £2k up

best not mention hundreds of hours tinkering in the shed @ £1/hr 🙄 That's where TB excels.

Perhaps if you provided more detail on how you were ripped off, someone kind with some experience would advise you if there is a way to help?
