It's a rare treat for me to have Chinese takeaways these days as I tend to wake up in the night with a raging thirst.

However, my go to order is....

Lemon chicken
Roast pork chow mien
Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style
Chilli shredded beef
Prawn crackers (which usually come as a freebie)

When at home it's Lemon Chicken, Crispy Shredded Beef and an Egg Fried Rice . Up north I'll swap the Lemon Chicken for Orange Chicken .

Had no idea you could get this sort of thing in Brighton. The number 61 was a regular lunch when I lived in Taipei. The first time we went to this little street cafe that did it the translators we had needed to tell them "yes they want it just like we would have it" because they were convinced we wouldn't handle the spice levels. They were unconcerned about our ability with the boiled blood though.

Me neither for a while, had to be up London for my hit of spicy pork arseholes or duck vulvas with dipping sauce. Was very pleased when this place was recommended by a lady who'd been stationed in China for many years.
