£1.08 for diesel I have noticed on the Island.

We used to pay a premium of about 10p/litre for shipping it onto the island, but that seems to have reduced looking at the prices on this thread.

Unleaded petrol is £1.02/1.03 around Douglas.

Mr B said he filled up at Worthing and diesel was £1.09 the other day. At that rate I think I will be getting him a BMX for Xmas!

And why are Texaco always the most expensive?
The Texaco on the Old Shoreham Rd, in Portslade has been around the 99.9p mark for the best part of a year, and I would assume that its well above that now

The price at Tesco's always goes up whenever they run their spend £50 and save 5p a litre on fuel promotion, meaning that those with the voucher pay more or less the previous price (after a quick couple of price hikes) while everyone else is ripped off (petrol station a few mins away is usually dearer all year round but suddenly becomes a couple of pence cheaper when they run it)

Now, according to an expert in the field. Texaco fuels - supplied by Team Flitwick in the South East is more expensive due to two main reasons. Firstly, they supply to a larger amount of small independents than most companies under the "Team Spirit" name. These smaller garages have to sell at high prices because Texaco will only sell to them at higher wholesale prices. As you'd expect really. Secondly, the quality of the fuel is apparently better. According to my source (who is probably biased) the fuel is of a richer quality than that sold by supermarkets. I don't know how true this is. But I do remember the contamination case that was in the news this year concerned supermarkets...

Oh, and the BP next to me is 99.9 for unleaded. And the 24hour Tesco filling station up the road was closed and coned off. I hope this isn't the beginning of the great Welsh petrol shortage.
