And they eat batteries too. I've heard that a lot of 'experts' regard the MD as superior for their sound quality and safer storage of tracks.
A lot of theatres us them as they are easy to store, and the sound quality is near CD quality. Also they are popular for theatres because you can slice tracks and move them around after burning the disk.

1947ish house, well built, still works superbly, with a few minor modifications along the way
1963 cars, a few.
1959 scooters, a few, faster, stronger and safer in town than modern plastic shyte
1967 Gibson bass guitar ( I tried new equivalents a few times and they may as well be teachests by comparisson)
a tea chest bass ( still under construction )
1992 Rega Planar 3 vinyl turntable, as good as a £500 CD player any day of the week
I have my late grandfathers 1974 B&W speakers in the workshop, still warming the airwaves well
had a superb 1973Heuer watch which was perfect . . .until I jumped in the sea and killed it  got a new waterproof one now!!!

On me right now, my ATM card is from 1990s.

In general I have s 1930/40ss AM radio / 78 player at home that gets occasional use for the hell of it - can get RTE1 and BBC Radio 4 on it, thats all.

I used minidiscs until last year for recording sets on, now record to a laptop though...

I had an MD player. Loved it. Used to record a lot of the music I made onto them. Course, they're regarded as obsolete now.

Oh yes, I have a mid 70's rega plannar 3.

Still rocks

AS it happens I just bought a rega cd player to go with it.

I have quite a few 400-500-year old books (the finest technology ever invented) which get regularly used.

If you mean something which does something physical, then it will probably be my favourite pen (c.1840) which gets used almost daily.

If you mean electrical, then it will be my trusty Audiolab 8000A (late 80s).

I occasionally use the pocket watch that my grandmother bought for my grandad when they got married in 1915.

It keeps perfect time.

My brother has a barometer that was made by our great great grandfather in the 1860s. He bought it on eBay. That still works.

We've got a black and white portable tv which is 25 years old and still working well. It has a dial to tune it to the various frequencies for the channels.

My house dates from about 1900 and it is still going strong. I still have the calculator I used at school which must have been bought in about 1981, I reckon the battery has only been changed once or maybe twice since then. My Hi Fi speakers are Wharfedale Coleridge from 1989, they are still going strong, back then the full UK price (I bought them tax free overseas) would have been about £500 and I dread to think how much I would need to spend for something of similar quality if I had to replace them now.

At University the oldest technology I use is probably my Ipod which is 2 years and 2 months old, along with my watch.

At home it is probably my alarm clock which must be a good 10 years old at least.

I have a fridge that was made in England, so it must be very old. Lec from Littlehampton. I bet I can't get it repaired by them.

My computer trackball dates back to 386 computers. When Windows first came into use.

I have a clock/radio that my dad gave me when I moved to London, 26 years ago yesterday. It survived about nine house moves but unfortunately couldn't survive the attentions of my 2-year-old son. I'm looking to get it repaired as I have a sentimental attachment to it, but no idea who does such things.

Other than that, we have a video player from the mid-80s, a CD player from 1991 and a Dell laptop from 1999. If it ain't broke, don't throw it away is my motto.
