My only claim to fame is that in my early 20's I got the top mark in the country for the National Federation of Roofing Contractors estimators exam. I believe it was 97.5% and before anyone says it yes I celebrated with a night out on the tiles!

Did you end up in the gutter?

I've got an MA and, if I'm lucky, may even have a PhD in a year or so. But the thing I'm really proud of is the national certificate in journalism from years ago.

Plumbing City and Guilds Craft Certificate
Plumbing City and Guilds Advanced craft certificate.

I have never been asked to show either certificate by any employer,or by anyone I have worked for since being self employed.
But I wouldn't be without either one, I'm glad I did a four year apprenticeship.

I have also never stopped learning in this trade.

Oh god, I've just realised this thread is an open invitation for one particularly annoying tw@ to post their signature.

I was also crowned butterfly champion when we used to have a pre drinks swimming contest in Ibiza every night back in about 1982. I couldn't actually do the butterfly very well but who gives a toss as the rest of them were more crap than me........happy days!

Thicko me :blush: four mediocre O levels :laugh::laugh:

Ooops, I was so good at school they let me leave when I was 15. After three years and faced with no qualifications & very limited prospects I started a 13 year journey through education at Night School. This saw me get three A levels (Business, Maths & Politics) and go on to become a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. During this time I set about sucking in as much experience as I could from jobs, friends businesses, visits, exhibitions and trade shows.

Now run a small investment company and am still learning every single day!
