I watched The Stones Rock and Roll Circus last night on Sky Arts. I had forgotten just how good and original the Stones were back in 1968. Jagger was some showman too. Love it, especially the last four minutes of this performance.

probably wouldn't have been called 'Spain' in the early 90s if they had foreseen how the internet would play out.

anyway ... it's Josh Haden who's dad played bass for Ornette Coleman so he has a good idea of how to put a choon together. Spain's songs follow a simplle formual ...slow paced, simple chords, borderline banal lyrics, lovely tone, 'question and answer' melodies, an impressive short guitar solo, e.g.:
