Two bands I did not know about until recently are Jane's Addiction and Skating Polly. Both seem top quality American bands.
I also like Caroline Polachek, and Magdalena Bay.
Plus from the Paris Olympics closing ceremony I have become a fan of the French band Phoenix, and the singer Angèle.

This popped up on the iPod this morning. Pure English joy. Majestic. Emotional. Simply divine. And I only have Is for U. :lolol:

That popped up on my Youtube feed too, and I nearly posted it. There some other absolute corkers in a similar vein :lolol:

1983, not 1989 - sorry!

Promoting the Debut album, hence loads of their best stuff not yet written.

Sound quality was awful, could barely hear the bass.

As I said to Mrs Jakarta (not a fan) the Smiths were such a parody band that it was difficult to send them up...

Can’t say I’d heard Montreal band Corridor before today - I really enjoyed their album Mimi, although I’ll have to work on my French. Superb collage animation on this video too.
