Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
Having been a U Roy fan since the mid-seventies, I can't believe I've only just discovered this gem.

Definitely good albums, I’m sure I had both on cassette when I was in my teens.
I have got Tribute to the Martyrs on my Apple Music
Handsworth Revolution on vinyl and CD. Absolute classic album

Pity there is a drumset ma not a drummer (electronic one I suppose).
The whistle is made by a synt keyboard.
The rhythm section supports the song. The melody and rests (pauses) are equally important.
It is one of the few pieces that I save from those years.
In its own way it is brilliant in its simplicity.
PS: The woman who plays the bass is my favorite, not only in musical terms... and there many videos where they play in... playback!

Apparently Michael Steele briefly played with weirdo guitar genius, Snakefinger (who left us far too soon)
