I had never heard this before and I didn’t know Hendrix even played it, very smooth version which I enjoyed and have played a few times. Love the way he delivers the lyrics.

Here
Heard the Billie Holliday original of this on Desert Island Discs today but Nina Simone's version remains my favourite....a song that is simultaneously dramatic, chilling and poignant....the black voice in music saying enough is enough, probably for the first time.

Just got a notification randomly pop up that the very wonderful Alice Deejay have reformed after 20 years and a tour is imminent! Maybe our local Dutch DJ could blag a support gig, he doesn't seem to be doing very much nowadays

Alice Deejay

Came across this today, no idea who Doug is, but it is fantastic. Made me smile, laugh and almost cry. This is why we (some of us) love Zappa music. There was nothing quite like Zappa live.

If you have never listened to Zappa - you should like the tune.
If you already like Zappa, it is interesting.
If you like classical you should get something from this.

His reaction to the music and vocals is priceless.
