Sorry, this goes against one song a day but have you heard the later version, she is still as sexy as hell but the voice has been changed massively by ciggies, drink and drugs!

I’ve always been aware of her journey through heroin addiction and out again on the other side, and yes through the magic of youtube I’ve seen her comeback performances. Reading quite a few pop star autobio's in the last year of two, the addictions often start to overcome stage fright. As a teen star, she was scared senseless.

A pretty woman with a uniquely beautiful, timeless voice.

Back to Dylan. The Closing track of Blonde on Blonde. The whole of the final side of the double LP. After telling a journo, it was the best song he had ever written - he has never played it live - I'm guessing he never will now

Bear in mind I live in the back and beyond of south west France

Where musical tastes are as about as good as an Englishman's taste in red wine

In a car park today, youngish chap pulls up in his car

Light My Fire (The Doors of course) blaring out and I mean full blast

Brilliant song, brilliant band, ages since I've listened to them

Will tonight that's for sure

Well let's put the masterpiece up then, love this piece with the band talking about how they came up with the song.

I have been listening to a cracking mix of live tracks by Protomartyr and am minded that they don't ever do this track live. Maybe to do with the production? Anyway....this is a haunting track I have posted previously and will doubtless post again as I listen to it often.

In the far desert
On a distant blasted plain
A forgotten corner
Amid the death of all things
Not under the blinding sun
Or the cultivator's toil
Only in darkness
Does the flower take hold
It blooms at night
It blooms at night
In the old city
In abandoned shells
On a desolated edge
Amid the death of all things
Not under the scornful eye
Or the corporation's hand
Only in darkness
Does the flower take hold
It blooms at night
It blooms at night
In my own head
Near the hole where hope drains out
And fear is branded deep
Amid the death of all things
Not under law or the thoughts I…

Following on from Weststander posting a Marianne Faithfull song I have been listening to quite a few of her songs over the last 24 hours and realise than I am still in love with my second crush (Julie Christie in Billy Liar being the first)
