As promised Psychobilly freakout.

Bit of background, I'm a bit peculiar as I have mentioned previously. One of my things is I get deeply affected by huge amount of music. I stumbled across this bloke in the lat 90s while going through some major personal life changes. Now, I love a cover version. And I love sincerity. I was already massivley into Apops when I heard this track. It has everything for me. Pure joy, weak vocals delivered with sincerity and a dodgy accent (Stefan is Norwegian). The audience absolutely into it. Clunky start, messy ending with the police shutting down the concert. At the time I would have given almost anything to have been at that gig. Over the following years I got to see lots of my newly discovered 'darkwave' artists, Assemblage 23, VNV Nation, Icon of Coil, but never the Apops. So, sadly I suspect you will hate this, but nevertheless here it is:

Not at all I like it, and too be honest in psychobilly nothing is polished as it’s all self financed and I love the “Eurobilly” for the broken English and honest interpretations, I like the fact it’s real honest and flawed.

I love this guy he was in a punk band at school found psychobilly but as with psychobilly you take influences from other styles and adapt them.
Here’s two covers from him of the forest solo, his psychobilly band and third & fourth is he wrote and you can here that nod to early new romantic mixed up punk scene, that’s what music should be powerful - just watch the videos coming from a German of Jewish heritage it’s extremely powerful.

Not everybody’s taste, I get that, I could pick your brains on music all day.
Have a good evening sir.

Thanks for posting that. The covers are great. The original stuff is powerful, but his vocals on those tracks are in need of further listens - they sound a bit weak on first.

Mrs T has taken a loathing to Apoptygma Berzerk for some reason. Having listened stoically to most of the live album this morning, she was not amused when one of the tracks from it popped up on random play on the car iPod :lolol: With almost 22,000 tracks on my iPod to choose from, that was a 2,000 to one shot. That lad I was chatting with about coincidences the other day on here - take note!

All the best - more musical jollity tomorrow

The wonderful Adrian Belew. I'd forgotten he played with Bowie and Zappa as well as King Crimson. Anyway, this is the final track from Twang Bar King, his excellent second solo recording from 83.

This was recorded live on the same 'Wild' tour when we saw them at the Brighton Centre in 1989, one of the best concerts I've been to.

I heard this and bought his CD in 2000 when it came out. I was so excited when I saw their first gig in the UK in London. A few years later they were playing in Sheffield on the evening The Albion were playing away at Wednesday. Another brilliant night. This is the first track from the first album. For me, a big fan of Ferry Corsten-style trance at the time, this was a gamechanger. I stuck the CD on a few minutes ago to bounce me through some work chores....

Behind My Eyes
I know I have posted this before, but it IS the best song I have heard today, so qualifies on that front alone...

My local radio station played this today, so I pumped up the volume and sang along at the top of my voice, while deadheading my pansies - I think the neighbours were impressed by my falsetto!

Oh dear hearing that just made me cry
It's one of my favourite songs. I bought the single around the same time as I left home and didn't even have a record player!
I used to carry it around everywhere on the off chance I'd end up somewhere I could play it :lolol:

I'm posting I Wanna Be Your Man, but I can't separate it from Glory Days. Sitting in the spare room with Covid and isolating from Mrs Earle, I found this celebration of Paul's 80th birthday. Glory Days is great, but I Wanna Be Your Man just rocks.
