I've come late to Stevie Wonder's album work. His work is normally uptempo but this isn't - but its a real grower - really well put together

Been listening to a lot of pearl jam recently. I love mirrorball , the album they did backing Neil Young, and this is one of my favourites

Help, I've slipped back to the 70's again, and it's another SAHB song ,but I have an excuse as it was the thread on Bad song Lyrics that led me to look at songs with what I considered to be good lyrics, I think these are spot on and delivered with all the menace that Alex Harvey brought to his stage performances. One of the comments on YouTube said Alex was so pi**ed before the recording that the group had to lead him out and sit him on a stool so he didn't fall over. They then recorded the song with Alex singing live then led him back to the dressing room where he collapsed on the floor. How true that was I don't know, but I did wonder why he was sitting on a stool and, how shall we say, had a bit of a glazed expression, Rock & Roll baby!

My neighbour and pal, Bob the (retired) social worker, a scouser, went to Hamburg in the early 60s to make his fortune as a musician before he joined the merchant navy, and bumped into Alex regularly. What a guy.

Dare I ask, did Bob get to see Lennon and co, or had they left Hamburg by then?

Back in Liverpool Bob saw the Beatles 20-30 times including the last gig at the Cavern when they all had new suits and kit. Cilla did the cloakroom and was a bit of a goer apparently. He did see them in Hamburg too so I recall.

And tales of his fishing trip with Jeff Beck would have PPF in a state of total arousal :lolol:

Dont tell anyone but im half Jock......I was weened on Heavy

My first visit to Scotland was as a 17 year old sixth former, I drove mates to Aviemore one summer. The nightclubs were heaving with Glaswegian blokes downing gallons of Tartan. Every now and them, the sound of raised voices and the sound of smashing glass from fights. Certainly an eye opener.
