Of course they matter. The results of these teams dictate whehter we need 45 points for safety or 55 points.

Yes but Not particularly
Because they could lose every game they play and we would still go down because we arent winning

That doesn't mean they don't matter. That means our results matter as well. :dunce:
To have any chance of staying up we need some of the teams above us to have very poor runs.

Exactly they do matter but they wont unless we start winning there results are irrelevant unless we start bringing in the results

Results for the other teams ABSOLUTELY DO matter, unless you think we're going to get fewer than 10 points from our remaining games. If you look at the table, there are a couple of teams who could conceivably go the rest of the season without getting more than a few points - Yeovil are our best hope, but there's still a chance we can overtake Northampton, Carlisle, Crewe, Orient and even Hartlepool...some of these teams are on crap runs which could very well continue. If they do, we could conceivably stay up with (say) 48 or 49 points.

Come on. Try and look at the positives instead of just the negatives. Today has sucked more teams into the relegation scrap, Northampton and Carlisle..

If Hartlepool lose Friday they are still very much involved in a relegation fight too.

Lets keep believing until our fate is finally sealed, I for one won't believe we are down until we are mathematically down...

Couldn't agree more mate, there are going to be plenty more twists before the end of the season - it's not over yet by any means
