Since coming back from living in India I have found it tough finding a place I really like.

The best place I have been so far is Bengal Palace in Portland Road, opposite old bingo hall. The restaurant is not that nice, but the food is brilliant.

Spice Nutrient by Brighton station is the best takeaway Ive had, but struggling to think of a great restaurant and food. I tend to agree with Shahi in Beaconsfield Road as one of the better ones

Nooris in Middle Street (or near there) used to be good. Not been there for a while though.

If you want a traditional Flock wallpaper curry house Ashoka is as good as any. If you're looking for something a little more modern (and more expensive) Indian Summer is worth a visit.

The Raj in Preston Circus is the good, but it is expensive and they charge
a 10% Service charge.
My presonal fave but hard to get to is the one at Peacehaven opposite the carvery or there abouts, when you sit upstairs if you have ordered a take away you can watch him make it on the big screen TV, how cool is that. If you sit in the restaurant the Indian owner/cook(not Bangledeshi) will always come to ask if you enjoyed your meal.
It is a shame that in Brighton we have no real Indian Restaurants because they are all run by Bangladeshi's.
