I work for a global firm and yesterday we had a virtual team meeting during which colleagues were encouraged to say what they liked about Christmas. I didn’t think it appropriate to say ‘you get time off and there’s loads of football on’ but one did say, and I quote, ‘Christmas music is lovely’. Although she was based in Latin America, do you think she’d been reading this thread?

At least you guys get a modicum of variety with festive tuneage. We get MarIah ‘kin Carey nine times out of ten, and then an occasional change to something usually bland and Americanised. Slade - mostly unheard of, Pogues - similar, Bowie/Como - nope, Wham - rarely, East 17 - nope, Mariah Carey (Queen of Xmas) again anyone?

To be fair the little known Bowie/Como Christmas collaboration never gets played here either.
