E3E is where it's at .... there's the occasional outburst of song, 2013, 2016 & 2017 and always a hearty rendition of Sussex by the Sea, the smell of warm bovril, a cacophony of tutting and the occasional disapproving look at Grealish, what's not to like?!

I reckon after 10 more seasons of E3E I will have absorbed enough to have perfected my moaning.

There's a young kid near me, early teens, who is of the age where life is just a universe of unlimited possibilities, where wonder and magic are right in your grasp and where the future is an undending sea of what wonderful things may come. But he had E3E in his breastmilk and so his outlook on life is akin to that of Nora Batty, and he whinges non-stop about Dale Stephens every match.

He's going to be a dry, very funny, sardonic adult, but I fear he's missing out on something.

There was a contingent of Belgians in the East lower who all were wearing half and halfs they'd had made especially. They'd come over from Club Bruges to support both teams as both have links with Bruges in some way (obviously we have Percy Tau, dunno about Villa).

Think this is true.......massive numbers of tourists in WSL today. Wrong seats, selfies, filming the game on phones, picnics....and audible TUTTING when I loudly called Grealish a ****ing ****.

This baffles me. We accommodate all these football tourists who don't really have the club in their hearts when we have thousands on the ST waiting list.

Let's fill the Amex with true BHAFC fans rather than those who just want to see a PL game.

I spoke to a couple of them on the train to Falmer, they were hoping to see Jose, but were aware he was still on the injured list.

Distracted me from what was building in my head into a mega argument. Jumped on a rammed train about to depart and then got pushed further into the aisle. There was a bloke 30-40 roughly sitting in the outside seat, with a carrier bag on the inside seat. Seeing so many people crammed on the train, he then sheepishly took his bag off the seat. I assumed he was going to move, but no he steadfastly stayed where he was. I then made a point of loudly offering the seat to the most inform person I could find standing, sadly the poor bloke was neither that old or infirm and promptly declined my kind offer. Still he didn't move. Most people can manage to stand between Brighton and Falmer, but there is no need to play sardines if some tosser has his bag on the seat.

Some of our loudest supporters, are newbies, some of our biggest non-singing moaners have been season ticket holders for ever. There have been a couple of threads on NSC in the past, that have exposed this. Tourists don't have a magic formula for obtaining tickets, they do so because of the apathy of the "true supporters". How many tickets listed on the ticket exchange do you think have first been offered to Brighton supporters, who have not really fancied it, or already have something else on etc?

If we are going to fix this, we are going to have to do it ourselves and not expect someone else to make the noise.

Just 5000 tickets go on general sale for each game out of 30551. Quite a few of them are family members, or old fans who work funny hours so cannot justify having a season ticket.
Many of them are people on the waiting list.

I reckon most of those people on the waiting list will be tourists.

I know a couple of people who are on the list that buy match by match tickets to every game.

They only really started going once we were in the PL, but they are not tourists and sing a lot more than most. They were ‘fans’ of two big clubs, but they are very much BHAFC now.

I’d say they are probably an exception to the rule.

Football is a business, Brighton & Hove Albion are a Limited Company, as harsh as it sounds their sole responsibility is to the shareholders, therefore it follows that the main aim is success on the pitch, globally exploiting the brand to increase fanbase (tourist, "true" and casual), protecting the brand and maximising TV revenues.

We live in a digital age, and the TV companies and their audiences are king, we earn around £9m from season tickets I'd guess and, let's say another similar amount from commercial activity outside of the TV rights, so about £18m. TV Rights are worth to Brighton are worth around £109m I think(?), so growing the global popularity of brand Brighton and increasing it's fanbase will increase this.

Football is a business, whether we like it or not and football tourism is a vital part of our global awareness and expansion ambitions.

If you’re being sincere, and the atmosphere in the WSU is indeed excellent then the acoustics in the stadium must be abysmal, haven’t heard a song from the WS for years.

WSU don't often begin songs but pick-up what the NS start and give it a boost. For e.g. you must have heard how loud "ALBION...ALBION..." can be when the WSU join in?

Where do you sit in the Amex?

I'm WSU towards the North Stand, there is definitely singing up there, we join in when there is a loud song coming from the North Stand.
I wouldn't say any songs are started in the WSU but I don't remember any songs being started in the West Stand at the Goldstone, or any main stand at other grounds I have visited.

Even if there is no singing in the WSU there is plenty of shouting and encouraging the team.
