Been crapping through the eye of a needle and want it to stop. Any suggestions for good food from regular household fodder? Can't be arsed to get down the chemist just yet.

In a cave
9 or 10 pints of Guinness. You will either be cured or too sh*t faced to care or notice if you still have the same problem!!

Strangely enough Coca Cola has a perfict mix of water salt and sugar to rehydrate you. Its all to do with osmosis through the intestines.

If you want to stop it quick then a glass of port works wonders. Read it in some book a few years back and it really works (and it makes you feel better as well)

Flat lemonade.

Is the right answer. A retired nurse gave me that tip when the children were ill. Enough fluid to rehydrate them and glucose to sustain them.

Drink pints of water but put a spoonful of sugar and salt (teaspoon, not bloody great shovels) in it, this is pretty much what re-hydration salts are...the main thing is not to let your body de-hydrate whilst your system continues to purge itself of whatever caused the upset.

NSC health warning - I am not, and have never been, employed in the NHS or any health related service but I did get a First Aid certificate from St John's Ambulance in 1993.

Unless you HAVE to go out, do not take Immodium et al. You need to be rid of whatever's causing you to ride the porcelain bus and those kinds of things will keep the nasties in.

You need to replace fluids though :)
