When I try and explain that waffles are simply a load of chips stuck together

Oh dear, you have a LOT to learn.

Chips are exactly what they say: chips made out of potato.

Waffles, on the other hand, are an art form. They are crispy on the outside, smiliar, IF YOU LIKE, to a chip. But the inside is MASH, creating that 'taste from heaven' sensation.

I f***ing LOVE waffles and have a big bag of them right now in my freezer.

I cook them in the TOASTER (always have for some reason) and have them with pretty much anything, but especially bacon, spaghetti, an egg and a BURGER.

Yummy for my f***ing tummy.

I like your enthusiasm my boy, however i must disagree with cooking them in the toaster. I know it's quicker and easier but you can't be the crispiness that the oven gives, its a deeper crispiness that a toaster just can't give.

I am going shopping later and am gonna buy 24 waffles and have sausages and waffles and spagetti hoops for dinner.

Get in my BELLY you waffle BASTARD.

I find the trick with oven chips to be as follows "lightly coat baking tray with vegetable oil and, if available, lightly spray chips with oil using baisting spray thingy, and then cook for ten minutes more than instructions say".

Waffles are lovely with baked beans and a poached egg on top.

I do Delia chips. Thick cut potatoes, dry, coat in Olive Oil, then top of the oven for 20 minutes on 200c.

Nice and easy and soooooo much more tasty than oven chips.

Does that count as potato waffle ?
Classic DKM post! I think Chappers missed the gentle word play, bless 'im.

Anyway that sounds good, I'll try that at home. Just one point, how do you dry them? With a tea-towel?
