The Avenue then Maloncho
Try to get one with the 10p meter on the back, that way you don’t get expensive bills every month but remember to have a few extra 10ps in case it runs out when a good bits on !
Oh lord, we had one but you only had to cover your monthly rental the rest got returned.
My parents used to watch a lot of TV so easily covered the cost, therefore a week or so before it was due to be emptied if we were skint my mother would ring up and say the slot was jammed so he’d come out to fix it (and empty it at the same time)
She’d then have enough to go to bingo

I think the size depends on the room size if you have a small room sticking a huge screen in there can look rather out of place, equally a large room you don't want a tiny screen.

Leeds - but not the dirty bit
Indeed over a mantelpiece is not ideal.

That's not because looking down is better or more comfortable, it's because it'd be shit looking at people feet if they were on a stage above you.

Ideally the centre of your screen should be slightly above your eyes (with the bottom of the screen a bit below).
Looking level or down is more comfortable than looking up, plain and simple. Some people I'm told don't consider looking at peoples feet to be shit, however if you have to look up to them, that would be shit. :)

Went from 55 to a 65inch Oled LG in the lounge and have it wall mounted at the correct height (60% below eye line and 40% above)

Sit about 15 foot away, it’s perfect

The bigger the better, within reason, TVs should fill your view. Viewing distance requirements from TV's have changed. In the old days you had to sit a distance away so you couldn't see the individual pixels and so the picture looked better.
Nowadays with good FHD and 4K you can practically stick your nose on the screen and the picture will look good, so 55 inch from 6 or 7 feet - no bother.

The most important decision is location. Whoever puts a TV over a mantlepiece wants their noggin examining, or at least their neck will need soothing after a while. Think cinema, theatre, amphitheatre, sports stadium etc., you always look level or down on the action for comfort - not up.
:)
This. Get a 4K and a size up from the one you think you want.

Got a 55 in my office slash games room

One thing I will say is VRR is annoying. Had to turn it off because it caused screen blanking out for a couple of seconds at a time when playing Gran Turismo 7. Only on that game but had to turn it off :(

When you're trying to be competitive it's annoying, heard that's an issue with a lot of tvs which have VRR turned on (not noticed anything since I turned it off, seems like a fad of a thing tbh same as 120hz)
