What would you spend £88m on?

I've often thought that the really FUN thing to do with a sum like £88 million would be to give it all away - in some bizarre, arbitrary way that will leave no-one thinking that you are being particularly generous to people who deserve a break. Dealing with MOANERS would be my top priority.

Something like this ...

£88 million will buy something like 4,400,000 tickets to watch the Albion. That's the home end full at Withdean for 550 games (or 22 years). At the very least, it would be FUN to do a deal with the Club that guaranteed FREE ADMISSION to Albion supporters for every season between now and, say, three years after we start playing at Falmer.

That would at least shut up most of the moaners. And fill the ground.

With the money left over, I'd provide free bus travel for everyone throughout Sussex for a year. More moaners dealt with.

And Harvey's bitter would be FREE in pubs that I like.

And I reckon I'd still have cash left to blow on myself and the family.

Terms and conditions apply.

Lord B - If you think that will shut up the moaners I bow to your undoubted optimism.

In all honesty, I'd give up my job, put £20m aside and then get involved in charity work. It would a nice feeling getting to cherry pick where your personal fortune could be spent so well.

Awww, if I had £88m to spare I'd let you do it too!

Yes but imagine the moaning, about WHO GETS THE FREE TICKETS, - don't forget that all of a sudden we will have thousands of new hard-core regulars.

The first thing I would do is quit work and then i'd spend the rest of my life doing whatever I wanted because I could afford to. And I would certainly NOT be one of those people who win lots of money and then say's " the money wont change me " or " I will carry on working " £88 million would change me and with that sort of money in the bank who the hell would want to go to work anyway?

Put £50 million in the bank, live off the Interest,

Spend £10 million on a house/cars/crap

Give £18 million to friends & family
Give £10 million to BHAFC for the Wanderer Stand at Falmer

If you won 88mil, the taxman would have at least a third of it away before you saw as much as 1p.
After all duties, SHOULD you decide to take the lesser-amount lump sum (as opposed to a yearly allowance of it that would amount to about 6 mil p.a.) you probably wouldn't even be left with the 50mil to put in the bank.

First I'd thank God for such fortune!

I would opt to remain anonymous. People who do not, are inviting beggers and criminals, and probably only do it for an ego trip.

A wise move would be to invest before giving handouts to anyone, even family. I'd rather assist in giving them what they needed to be solvent themselves, so maybe give them an investment instead of dosh. For any investment moneys, ncome property is usually good, and perhaps some land passed for planning permission - as well as foreign land (i.e. Brazil and Argentina, where I'd be able to access friends' knowledge and help too)
Then I might look into proposed plans of BHA, and have a power breakfast with DK to see what might interest each other and at what investment and returns.

I'd also look for a well-founded charity, or perhaps build something ....like a school in a stable enough area in Africa or South America.

With spare money, and that which I may set aside for my own immediate use, I'd buy a home in the countryside, put a recording studio and an entertainment area in it, and have some land for livestock, a tennis court, indoor pool and football area. Then I'd seek out all the great rare vinyl I ever wanted, and revel in my good fortune while listening to my quality tube-amped sound-system.

??? ???

Euromillions is tax free and there is no "lesser-amount lump sum". If you win 88 million sterling, you get 88 million sterling in one go.

I would not change my lift. I am happy as it is.

NOT -

Booze, mates, whores, drugs, sun, fun and more of the same until it all ran out or I died.......and I would not leave a penny to the RSPCA!

After a celebratory wank I would spend it all on excedingly good drugs and an Xbox. Any left over I would fritter away in Coral.

I would go away on a holiday with a few very close friends and family, relax and have a relaxed think about where to take advice from and where to spend. I would then return home to sort out new homes and some fun, distribute a bit to friends and a few charities.

Then once settled I would travel and educate myself. Spend time learning all the subjects I was interested in, meeting people and generally expanding my knowledge of the world.

I would also like to fund some film projects I have in mind.

Is that OK? when do I pick up the money? Oh...
