Well, I'd certainly want to get rid of some of it fairly quickly - having that much money would make me feel pretty vulnerable! So, a fair chunk to charity fairly pronto.
Help for the family, of course, and a few special friends.
I'm a bit of a steam buff - that new Tornado locomotive they built a couple of years ago cost £5M I believe, so I might look at commissioning a new build of another extinct loco or two - a bit smaller and cheaper though! An ultimate big boy's toy!
Plus a few houses for cheap rent to people who need them.
And, thinking of Mrs. Merton's famous question to Debbie McGee, "Tell me, what first attracted you to the short bald millionaire?"............. hmmm.......would old and slightly overweight do instead of short and balding?

I'd do exactly the same (in colour if not tone - I have no interest in steam but would instead buy a ski lodge, useful while the legs still work). Plus put a few mill behind my pet research project.

Sounds a bit wet, but I'd build apartment blocks for homeless people with training centres on site so they could get their shit back together, learn a skill, then get a job and move out into the wide world again. The condition of arrival would be that they mentor an 'incoming' when they leave, so give something back.

Yes, there are genuine basket cases out there - but I'd bet there are thousands who just need a leg up. A lot of my time and a chunk of my winnings would go into this....

Apart from that I'd travel as much as I could, buy my friends and family new houses or pay their mortgages off, and I'd buy myself a Rolls Royce Phantom LWB. You can stick your bumpy-arsed Lambo's and Ferrari's - I'd want supreme comfort!!

Seriously, everyone I've ever met would probably benefit in some way. What is the point in keeping it to yourself, life's way too short. Funnily enough Mrs Wz was talking about this the other night. We retired just over 8 years ago and ended up going back to part time work as we both got bored, so I wouldn't want to do that again.

So probably give a bit to Family and Friends for them to treat themselves and have a few more holidays, but that wouldn't take much money so set up a charity and spend all our time looking after the investments and making donations where we thought it was needed. That would keep us busy and out of trouble and be a proper good job
