So was I.

I bumped into Micky Quinn in the betting shop near work the following day. It didn't seem to have bothered him at all. I think it was a Coral, just off Churchill Square.

I was there that night too, and can remember really looking forward to getting home and watching the goal highlights on Sportsnight. Except the Gulf War had just broken out, so Sportsnight was cancelled, replaced by General "Stormin" Norman Schwarzkopf in his khakhi's pointing at a map. Gutted.

Great night, that lad was on FIRE!

I think it was one more goal for wade against wolves and then he headed back to wales.

One of my most memorable sporting events - watching Ceefax for an afternoon with my lovely old dad as Sussex stormed to their first Cricket County Championship. The glory days....
