What would be your starting 11 for Saturday?

I think El-Abd and Hammond HAVE to start, they are local boys and have been at the club as kids and I reckon they will UNDERSTAND what the game means for the fans. I would sacrafice some pretty football for players that will leave everything on the pitch.

I would rather win an ugly game 1-0 with players having to be carried off the pitch at the end than trying to play pretty football and losing.

As opposed to Lewis Dunk?

I think for this one i'd much rather have AEA than Dunk. He apparantly bleeds blue n white stripes when he nicks himself shaving his head.

The post was more to point out that Dunk has been with the club through the youth teams and is also a local lad.

Yeah i know. i just think that AEA will be a better choice to start in this one than Dunky. I just reckon Adam will be so, SO up for it on Saturday. He wears his heart on his sleave, again, only my opinion.

Dunk and Greer both looked very good last night, Painter has done a great job since he's had his chance.

I'd be tempted to keep it the same

As much as i admire Paints....i fear Zaha would murder him. Lets hope we get to see Zaha up against the best left back outside the Prem, then we'll see if he is as good as he thinks he is!

If Palace take the game to us and we try and contain them, we will lose. If we take the game to them as well, we will play them off the park. So same as last night except Cms for Dobbie and AEA for Dunk.

Bollocks to Zaha, his scoring record is awful. Keep Murray on a tight leash and let them worry about, Buckley/Orlandi/Cms. Like I say, if we take it to them they won't be able to handle it. Sit back and let them play and it could be a painful afternoon.

It will be easier with Bridge in the team to take the game to them, imo. If he bombs forward like he can, Zaha will be forced to play in his own half more often than not. Of course we need to control the tempo of the game in order for that to happen, but as we all know, we are well capable of doing that. Big display needed from Bridders as well me thinks.

Poyet may keep it the same as with the Bristol City game but my personal choice if Bridge is out would be

Kuszczak
Bruno - Greer - El-Abd - Painter
Bridcutt
Hammond - Orlandi
David Lopez - Buckley
CMS

Subs
Brezovan, Dunk, Calderon, Crofts, Barnes, Dobbie, Hoskins

Reason i gone for Lopez to start is i feel he could have a good game and pushed Buckley out to the left so he can run back and help Painter with Zaha

and i agree with many others that El-Abd to come back in for this game, Dunk has done good since coming back in but i feel we will go back to El-Abd at the back

COME ON BRIGHTON!!

There is no point in thinking we'll be set up in any way other than defensively for the visit to the team in second, with a lightening quick forward in their ranks, especially if Bridge isn't fit.

It has to be 4-5-1, and seeing as Dobbie gets so frustrated in a withdrawn role, he is in direct competition for a starting spot with CMS. In fact, this is the only reason Barnes gets in for me - he is happier playing behind the front man/men, as neither a midfield holding player nor a striker. I agree with GingerBeerMan, for all his faults he is still able to link play pretty well away from home. So for me, Hoskins, Dobbie and CMS are competing for the sole striker position. I'd give CMS the nod as otherwise we are simply not giving their defenders enough to think about, and his pace will discourage their fullbacks from pushing up when they have corners/freekicks etc.

Yep, same for me.

AEA has to come back in.

My only reservation with that team, is possibly Hammond for Crofts, if only for his height at set pieces.

I cannot believe that some are suggesting dropping Hammond and bringing in Croft because based on the performances this season, for whatever reason Hammond wins hands down and did a very good job against Bristol City, nothing flash just a hard workman like performance.
