Funnily enough, I have just filled in my application for Mastermind (really) - you have to put four specialist subjects.

Mine were: the life and works of Bertolt Brecht; the plays of William Shakespeare; the history of Sussex CCC and a history of Microsoft.

I've applied five times before and not got on so I'm not holding my breath for it...

Has it been won by a former winner of another famous academic challenge or will you be a first? Are you ready to be an Egghead?

Ps I have heard of three of those, but who the hell is Shakespeare? :jester:

I particularly enjoyed the episode of celebrity Mastermind when the specialist subjects were

The Feature Films of P.T. Anderson
Life and Times of Gypsy Rose Lee
Gavin and Stacey
18th Century English Art and Artists

The celebrities were Goldie, Paul O'Grady, Gail Emms and Lloyd Grossman. Can you guess who chose Gavin and Stacey (clue: it wasn't Grossman)?

I was thinking about this the other day.

I'd probably try and look all smart by covering the life of Ernesto "Che" Guevara however more realistically I think I'd go with The Simpsons seasons 2 - 10
