Why do you think that?

I can't see what he does wrong. His distribution is a bit patchy I admit, but better than Elphick's or Hawkins'. Defensively he's solid, and he gets forward well. I think it's great that we have such a natural full-back. I remember the McGhee years with all manner of players at full-back hence I'm thankful for having Whing. He's also a complete ANIMAL, which is great because when games become a battle we need people to put their foot in. I don't think we have enough of those players, so again I'm just grateful that Whing is there to do it.

well said whing wants the shirt he battles for everything he cant help it that hes playing with people that SEEM (but i dont know why) like they aint bothered whether we win or lose in the league but win a stupid pointless game against man city!!!
elphick, kuipers and whing are the rocks at out back and i hope some of the team learn from there performances week in week out for the albion.
one player also i would like to keep his first team place is el abd because he does give 110% no matter what people throw at him including fans!

Cant argue with Whing's passion, but he is unfit. He is the first player leaning over gasping for breath every game. The fact he's come off in 2 ( or is it 3? ) games says enough about that.

His distribution, as blatently evident, is not the best and his defensive positioning is far too suspect at times. Watch the opposition team in our next game, they like to do most of their attacking down their left hand side at Whing, teams have done it all season.

I'd have Virgo there, as his distribution when he has more time on the ball, like he would at right back, is good, he has better vision than Whing and his passes are more accurate.

Virgo Elphick Hawkins Richards.

Whing hasn't been good for most of the season. He played well for about the last 20 minutes on Saturday.

I have been saying this all season about teams attacking us down our left but have been put down for it. I also have been saying that Virgo will finish up playing at right back as he has as good defensive abilities as Whing is better in the air and has better distribution. Whing will not be first choice right back at Christmas. Possibly Hinshlewood if he comes back to anything like his old self.

Judging by the poll the majority are in favour of Whing to keep his place and Virgo to replace Hawkins:clap2::bowdown::clap2:
