We'll be pining for the days of third tier football. Similar to our last spell in the top flight, apparently.

"We're useless, that 3-0 defeat to Arsenal is the worst we've EVER played"

"There were only 35,000 left in the stadium on 90 minutes, it's embarrassing"

"We'll never win the Europa league playing like that"

"Rooney just hasn't got the height, we never should've let van Persie go to Palace for free"

"Poyet has lost his way, Micky Adams did more for us"

"Beckham still has it at 50"

"12 quid for a f***ing pie!"

Not so much 'pining' but there was a large proportion of the Albion fans who couldn't accept that we weren't beating the likes of Everton and Bolton as easily as we used to beat teams like Mansfield and Exeter. Crowds plummeted. I can't imagine it will be any different next time and the recent tone of posts on NSC bears that out. Within a few months it will go from "Fantastic! We're in the Premier League!" to "That was shit, we should be beating teams like Villa."

You mean if we get to Premier League.

I do worry about people's expectations leading to long-term disappointment.

Just enjoy the ride right now.

Think where we were 3 years ago!

Happy New Year

Judging from posts on here previously we're not allowed to think about the past. Times have changed bla bla. Football fans will never be happy they always want better and to be honest it puts me off the whole sport.
