England 2-1. We have the power! Owen to score, Neville to put Ronaldo on his arse.

Are either of Scots the chap who sits in the South Stand Centre at Withdean shouting "go, go, go", "work it up as a team Albion" and "nicely". If you are, you're a legend! :clap2:

What I should at this point remind all England fans is that you do have the capacity to lose to anyone. last time you played us over 90 mins at Wembley I seem to remember mighty Don Hutchinson sticking one in and if wasn't for a great save from Christian Dailly's header well.....................

In all truth I wish you the best tonight.

The tournament just isn't the same without the Tartan Army though.

I think England will win 2-1 - Owen and Rooney for us, Ronaldo for them.

Everything is going too well for us to fall tonight, I think Portugal may have had their 'final' when they beat Spain.

Oh I don't know. Bulgaria pretty much did the job the Scots usually do.

I agree the first round wasn't the same but now we'ree in the knockout stages I think normal service has been resumed.

I personally think England wil lose 3-1 or 3-2, sorry but that's what I think.

Going back to the Scots, it's been quite a while since they were in a tournament, was their last one World Cup 98? Shame, they're alright.

It really would be disastrous if we don't qualify for Germany 2006. However we are a long way from being a good team. We have a couple of decent young players coming through but it will be a major effort to get there. What we really need is a really world class player to galvanise the team. Fletcher is good but he's got a long way to go. I am looking forward to taking on the Italians in Italy in March 2005 though. On the basis of this tournament they are beatable at least at home.

We will be closer this year. There have been significant improvements in our team as a whole. we hel Germany at home and should have won, and also beat the Dutch at Hampden, though I don't want to think about that second leg!!

I think that the problem for us remains the same - we have no real goal scorer. The period os piss-poor football for a good few years was on the cards once the side that Craig Brown had started to disintergrate. At least there we had several Premiership players and were hard to beat, even if we did not set the world on fore.

We qualified for Euro 92, and 96, the World Cup 98 and then look what happened.

Ever since Gascoigne hand balled over Hendries head we have struggled.

Still with Fletcher and Crawford and the young Celtic boy coming through there are signs of a gradual renaissance.

Very Gradual.

I mean really gradula. None of that pretty gradula stuff. This will be a very gradula type of gradual.

I think we win 2-1, we be 2 up and give away a penalty and they will score, and everyone will be saying it's a repeat 0f '66

mejona, you forgot to mention the Czech's, they are a pretty handy outfit.

I am going for a 2-1 win to England with Scholes and Owen scoring. We all had a go at predicting the result at work today, the biggest score (4-0 to England) was predicted by a Scot, his record so far it has to be said is pretty close to perfect...

England have so many weaknesses, in goal, left side of midfield, middle of defence, lack of height upfront.

The temptation would be for Portugal to spoil their own game trying to exploit these weaknesses.

And that Figo strikes me as a lazy player, so that is one extra for us.

So what does this mean.

Forecast:

Portugal to lead 1-0 until midway through the second half when Cole breaks through wide left and crosses for an unlikely goal from ??????

Anyrate we will romp home in extra time.

It doesn't look too promising, but Portugal must a few weaknesses. Didn't look up to much to me.

England are two years away from a good side.

It must be Beckham who scores for England.
