What will happen to Vicente?

Obviously we want him to stay! He has been extremely influential and helped us to get where we are. But what do we think will happen to Vicente come the summer? Will he go back to Spain after having a fantastic cameo season? Will promotion sway him to stay? Or will he stay in England but go to another club?

So what do we think?

I seem to remember when he signed that it was a one-year contract with the club holding an option for a second year. I really hope this is true.

If we go up, I don't see how he could leave!
Let's hope he can get a bit of a run in the side, maintain match fitness and feel part of this team.

He is the one player coming in from abroad that I see as a masterstroke - as long as he's fit.

Noticeable that neither Razak or Assulin were even on the bench today.

I think we all want it to be true! He is the kind of player that we need in the Premier League!

some very interesting comments from Gus re: Vicente after the match. listen to them yourself (bbc or player?) but what i heard was that 1) Gus had decided that enough was enough with Vicente and really pushed him in training this week - my interpretation of that is Gus felt Vicente needed to prove to himself that he's fit enough to play. i'm pretty sure Vicente's problems are mainly in his head and Gus and the staff have been trying to deal with that - probably explains why the whole Vicente saga has seemed so strange to us on the outside. oh yeah 2) when asked about the contract situation for next year he said that nothing's happening now but that everything's "under control" or something like that. his comments really made me think that Vicente may be here for another year.

Gus has fixed him so next year he pays Gus and the club back by getting us to or keeping us in the Premier League? sounds like a plan to me.....

If we were to be promoted it might have a positive effect on his psychological injuries!

Hes been on the side line for most of the season and TBH hasnt made much impact to where we are now, Id only want him to stay if its a pay per game contract come waste money offering him 10k+ doing jack.

Despite his obvious quality I can't see him having a whole load of options. He's got years of history that will prevent most clubs from taking him on. If Gus wants him then I think he'll be with us but if he goes missing again between now and end of season I doubt we'll see him at the Amex or anywhere else

He is an exceptional player but you can hardly describe him as having been extremely influential in us being where we are!!!!

jesus christ, man, you really don't like football that much do you? i mean you don't love the passion and romance of the game, do you? Vicente is f***ing sublime... a joy to watch... a world class player... you really don't think it's worth the club gambling a few thousand in wages on the chance that he might just get it together and tear apart whatever league he's playing in next season.....IN THE f***ing STRIPES??? let's face it...i said it's a gamble for the club but we're not talking about the kind of money that would endanger the club financially or even really have that much effect on next year's budget for the squad.

I'm surprised Norwich aren't after him?

Injured next week. Obvious! cracked finger nail, lost his hand bag, bad period pains, staying in to wash his hair...............

The man is class, chased everything this afternoon, created opportunities, scored two, ran, tackled etc. Looked 100 percent. If we CAN hold on to him, the future looks bright. Enjoy him whilst we can.

Along with everyone else who has played this season. Doesn't mean they have all been 'extremely' influential in us being where we are. Don't you have any clue what perspective means?

Don't you think he has been then?
