I was on that bus, we had to wait for a replacement at Boxhill. The party at Newbury afterwards was something else.

I too was on that coach, and if remember correctly we had a camera crew with us. Does someone know of the were abouts of the video?

I also remeber being scared witless as a huge group of welsh mentalists smashed up a coach on the duel carriage way, that was about two hours before kick off!!!

Right now, I'd be on the Gulls Eye coach to Hereford.

We stopped at a pub, and sat in the garden cheering any Brighton cars that passed by. Then someone put porn on the coach video, which seemed just... inappropriate, really, for the mood of the day. Picked up some folk whose car had broken down near Hereford. Got to the ground and managed to smuggle a smoke grenade in down my trousers, which was then used to greet the teams.

And then watched a nice game of football.

I was also ticket less in Hereford, in a pub, keeping a low profile, whilst getting the TV updates and local radio commentary via the landlord.

1998 I had no chance of getting a ticket so we were glued to the TV that afternoon. Dreaded to think what would have happened if we had lost.

Yes, I hear all the tickets had sold out by 1998.

I was genuinely celebrating Labour's victory and getting caught up in the whole excitement of it all back in May 1997...

And don't forget Katrina & the Waves won Eurovision that night too. It truly was a momentous day.

I was 11, and whilst I had yet to be formally introduced to the Albion, I do remember watching a report on the game on TV. I don't think I fully appreciated the gravity of it all, though.
