What was your lowest point whilst following the Albion

Half time at Hereford. Hot, hungover, no voice left, dehydrated, one nil down, and on the brink of dropping into non league abyss. It was a grim 15 minutes.

We didn't play in the pink NOBO shirts for that game: we played in the sweet wrapper shirts.

For me the absolute worst was the 3-2 home defeat to Darlo (even one of the goals we did score came off Baird's arse). It was a terrible match against a terrible team: we were rock bottom of the football league, owned by a bunch of wankers and had no ground.

No defeat ever will come close to that - losing 5-0 to Palace, bad as it was, was like a 90-minute orgasm compared to that Darlo defeat.

Completely agree it's impossible to put into words how depressing that was. I just remember going home after the game and sitting staring at a wall thinking that the club was completely screwed and everyone had almost lost hope.

Sad times that we shouldn't have had to endure!

1) Scunthorpe away when we were fighting relegation to the conference. We lost 2-0.......abject performance, and most of the teams in the bottom won.

2) Leyton orient away, when Peter Shilton made his 1,000th league appearance. Got so mad afterwards, I got on the players coach, and pleaded with them to stand together and tell Belotti Archer and co to F*** Off. Most of them looked terrified at the "nutter" (me ), but Goerge Parris was really good and listened.

I watched that game live on the box and was so f***ing pissed off we couldn't even test a 43 or 44 year old keeper with a decent shot. That was always going to be the knocky kneed Shiltons day !

Losing 2-1 at Kingstonian in the FA Cup, as if an abject performance and defeat wasn't bad enough, hearing two people behind me shouting racist abuse at our black players. My regret is that I stood there and did nothing about it, if it had been today I would have reported them to the stewards and ensured that rubbish like that does not follow the team I love.

If you are reffering to thr Sudbry Town penalties defeat then yes, that was probably my worst night as an albion fan aswell. Add to that athe Gilingham years.

My lowest point was an away game somewhere near Leeds - I honestly can't remember where but possibly Halifax - we went to a cinema in Leeds following the game and saw Paper Moon, it was in about 1972 / 73.
It was a low point not because of the score or the performance but because there was only about twenty of us there - hardly anyone could be bothered to come. Contrast this with all the other low points mentioned in this thread, I was at most of them but the great thing was that so were a lot of other people all united in supporting the Albion - even at Gillingham there was a reasonable core of people making an effort.
There is strength in numbers - but on the Friday night that I am trying to remember there was no numbers.

Although the end of the season we went down with McGhee was probably the most pathetic, limp football performances I have seen (even worse than the games at Gillingham imo), the reality was we were in the Championship so it's hard to feel utterly despondant at being relegated from that level.

i think some of the games this season have been worse than that - at least at that level we were losing to half decent teams, not getting thrashed off the park by blackpool, yeovil and carlisle

got a few low points. that darlington match, the sudbury fa cup for sheer ineptitude and embarassment, and when we got battered in the ouring rain in 97-98 on a tuesday night at gillingham - possibly against barnet

Half time at Hereford. I don't want to sound like an uber fan, but I don't know if anyone that wasn't there can imagine how grim that was. Every face around you looked mortified.

Other than that, a 3-1 defeat at "home" to Scunthorpe at Priestfield. I walked out at half time (2-0 down at that point) and went to the pub and was surprised to find a couple of other fans who had done the same thing.

Finally, the 5-1 against Stoke. That game totally encapsulated that season for me. Gutless and totally lacking in spirit and togetherness.
