Humphrey my tortoise when I was about 9. However things didn’t turn out well for him as one day he wouldn’t wake up when I tried to feed him so buried him on a railway embankment. It was only some years later that I think I may have buried him whilst hibernating.

Kitten named  Moustaches ("Whiskers").

He broke his leg when he decided to nap on the engine of my father's pick-up truck. The hood (bonnet) was closed, so no one knew he was there. When my father started the engine, he heard a loud noise very unlike what he expected, lol. Moustaches had a cast on his left hind leg for nearly 2 months, then proceeded to get run over by a car soon after. He lived all of 8 months.

3 years later, we moved to a farm and proceeded to kill our animals ourselves -- hogs, chickens, rabbits -- without the aid of strangers' cars.

Ps: it was a tortoise. It died. We then got two more named Winston and Adolf. Adolf went the same way as Rhino. He/she drowned. My parents really should have decided whether they wanted a pond or tortoises.
