QPR early 2000’s.

We lost. But young me was very excited to see a police horse for the first time.

28th January 1967. Ald ershot. FA Cup 3rd round. 0-0. Pouring hard with rain. Pitch a quagmire. Thousands of Brighton supporters. No segregation. Usual mayhem of the time.

Remember that one well. Went on the train and it was rumoured all the way that the game had been postponed. The resultant reply was a magic night as we won 3-1 and booked the 4th Round tie with Chelsea.

Not my first away game though. That was at Aldershot on Grand National Day 1964 (ko at teatime) Picked my first winner (Jay Trump I think) We still lost 1-0 though.

Watford in the FA Cup, 1984 I think...maybe 5th round, year they got to the final? Aged 10ish and somehow in the director's box with my dad...no idea why?! Lost 3-1 I think, vaguely recall Danny Wilson scoring? They had John Barnes, Mo Johnston etc...

Like my first ever game I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it was Palace away 1977. I think we lost 3-1 with Vince Hillaire scoring twice (I definitely remember bits of the game, especially him scoring), but my abiding memory was being chased by Palace fans after the game.

I was only 9 at the time.
