2 disallowed Newcastle 'goals' in the FA Cup 3rd round in 83. Keegan throwing his toys out of the pram, something we have seen a lot more of since.

That is a very good call, as that was the bit of luck/wrong decision that teams need in a run to the FA cup final and something we very seldom get in Cup competitions. Didn't an on loan Wardy score our goal as well?

In regards to the abandonned swindon game, they murdered us and would probably have won 6-0 if the game had carried on.

At that time on season (New Years day) that would have been crushing for morale and maybe panic in team selection, etc. but, it was a let off. It gave the players 7 management a wake up call and, because they didn't actually 'lose' was turned into another sige that this was to be our year and the team went onwards & upwards.

So, we lost the re-arranged fixture but were all ready promoted. A few years back we were soundly beaten at Shrews having won promotion, such things happen.

As for the newcastle cup game, good call. It really was backs to the wall and we were battered by the geordies and rode our luck, with the help of the ref. but we also played some class football and Wardy did score...and travelled back to Derby on the supporters coach.
