I was generally just making up the numbers in most sports but was a reasonable goal keeper (well at schoolboy level anyway)

My personal highlight was in a match against fierce local rivals who were generally better than us. I conceded two goals in the 1st two minutes but the team fought back to two all. I then saved TWO penalties in the last 10 mins and we managed to hold on for the draw.

I look forward to hearing NSC stories of GLORY that make the above seem plain ordinary :lolol:

I think Race may win this one if he can be arsed to post!!

Debut for Windsor & Eton in the Ryman league a few years ago. Was litterally called out of the blue around 11am on the Tuesday, forms were faxed through to me at work so I could be signed before the game that evening. We drew 1-1 with them equalising in the last minute after I pulled off a string of saves. Got man of teh match and had a headline in the non-league paper

Same here, reasonable goalie.

My penalty save against the local rival school was pretty good, after I saved it I got on my knees and cheered but failed to notice their striker had run after the ball. LUCKILY he scuffed his shot into the side netting :D

Being double county champion for tennis at the mature age of 8. Then remained number one in the county ranking for four years, until i had the choice of stay at school at work or try and turn pro. I gave tennis up, definitely the right call. Played East Sussex cricket for a bit, and a couple of games for Sussex at age group level then gave that up.

NSC Select 2-1 Exiles

NSC 6-a-side competition 2008.

The Exiles defeated the original Team NSC 12-1 in 2007's competition, but a combination of new signings, inspired captaincy and the ring-a-roses goal celebration saw a memorable turnaround cheered on by players from most of the other participating teams.

Playing Owzat Indoor cricket and once taking 4 wickets in an over...... o.k. so 2 were run outs, but one was caught and the last wicket was the best as the ball swung beautifully and bowled him "through the gate" :clap2::clap2:

Hitting an ex Sussex spin bowler (cannot remember his name but he was about 80) back over his head for 3 consecutive sixes against Shoreham on that huge pitch they play on by the Cricketers pub. Lost the ball when it disappeared down towards the railway tunnel. Ah my calypso cricket period.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Three of them really.

In chronological order...

1) Batting at number 11 and scoring all 27 runs needed to defeat Worth Abbey. All the other games had finished and I ran off with the stumps, only to be bundled by about 50 people.

2) BUSA managed to put our Uni 4ths in the same league as our 2nds. They were undefeated for 2.5 years. Their captain offered us a 1-0 defeat, so that we could mess about for 90 minutes. Decided to have a crack at it and ended up winning 3-2. I scored the first from a short corner. Backs to the walls for the last 20 minutes. Cue mass hysteria from the hoardes of spectators. The second tie saw them win 11-0

3) Scoring 78 in a 223 second wicket partnership in a game of Twenty20 against Middlemoor Police Force.

A Cubs recollection like Hristo above...

Playing for the 12th. Brighton at about 9 y.o., losing every game of my first season, except the last two, which yielded a draw and a win, then losing the first and drawing the second of the next season, then winning every game after that to take the title. Battered old B/W photo resides at my Mums of the victorious team
