Nothing sly about it, in those days tickets were allocated depending on the competing clubs average attendance, United's was way more than ours , that's why we didn't have as many there as them. If the allocation was equal we still would've sold out.... .. just like any other club.......apart from one!

I'm sure others will remember that there was a block of a few thousand tickets meant for us which ended up in Man Utd hands. I don't recall it being done by the FA. The implication being that someone in the Club sold them on to Utd and we got a friendly with them as payment.
