‘Somerset Maugham’. I awoke from a particularly long, vivid, and detailed dream in which I was offered a portfolio (for £520) containing drawings, a large number of photos, and a short film depicting Maugham talking about his sexuality. I wanted to see how much of the portfolio was possibly accurate and how closely the image of Maugham in the film matched the reality. Not much, it turns out; I was conned out of £400 (the accepted counter offer).
