Mine was during the Auto Windscreens Shield in 96-97.

Home to Fulham and we just went 2-1 down and the Fulham fans started up "you're not singing anymore".

I then replied with "Al-bi-on Albion Albion" to the tune of ere we go, and the whole of the North Stand (about 900 people) joined in.

I was well chuffed.

:D

How about you?

You can remember your first time? Surely everyone remembers their first time?

Except Kev the Ape, when asked about his first memory of a Brighton match at the Goldstone. He couldn’t remember so he was going to ask his mum, when she got in from work. :jester:

I don't start chants very often and when I do no-one else usually joins in, but I remember in the mid eighties bearly a teenager for whatever reason starting a "seagulls" in the West Stand (yes that's correct) and everyone around me joining in. Rumour had it, it could even be heard from the North Stand but most people there assumed it was just a distant thunder clap or something!

Also started the "It's a fix" chant in the infamous 5 penalties game at Crystal Palace. Yes it's true.

Finally, I remember starting an ironic "England's number one" chant just after then Watford keeper David James had dropped the ball to hand us a goal scored by Mike Small (I think).

...after Millwall had come down here in teh 70's, they had a chant that went " we are eeeeeevill"

At the West ham game home in 1977/8 ish, I was in the North Stand and whilst it was filling up I started a chant of " we are eeeeevilll" not realising that everyone around us were West ham Psychpaths........suffice it to say, it all kicked off and I ended up in the West stand somehow.

Ever since then I have had a pathalogical hatred of anything West Ham ( apart from sunshine obviously)

Chandlers Ford
At the end of the Cup Final in '83 [the first one] the Albion fans sang individual songs going right through the whole team;

"One Graham Moseley, theres only....." etc, etc, but only for the 12 that had played that day.

My Dad, who I believe has never started a chant before or since, started "One Steve Foster, theres...." so poor old Fozzie wouldn't feel left out.

on a pig farm
way back in the seventies playing aldershot at home i started
aldershit, aldershit, aldershit.

felling quite pleased with myself, and with my confidence growing by the second i then started a "give us a b" but then my voice broke into a squeek and everyone in the north stand started pointing and singing "back to school on monday"

left me mentally scarred for life :lolol:
