[Albion] What to do with Trossard?

He’s a talented player. But he needs the right system to flourish, that much is obvious. He won’t beat players, but he’s very capable of playing the final ball, of getting a goal and of creating something. If you added some pace and movement around him, and a proper overlapping full back, I think we’d get a much better idea of the player we’ve seen in fits and bursts.

Quality again tonight, as he always is when on the pitch. I don't understand how people don't see it. Perhaps he's too good for us?

Class tonight. For whatever reason he just doesn't see to be able to do this in the first half of games when he starts.

That's not true. He's generally ineffective when he starts, but he transforms into our best player when he comes on as a sub.

That was the best he's played since his first couple of games. Since then he's been ineffective looked way to slow. Good to see him going for it tonight. One of the very few positives. Hopefully he will continue like this now.

Seemed to be on the same wave length as Mac Allister which is a positive

That freekick was quality!

two players trusting each other's ability. Mcallister really rattled it in and Trossard's control was superb, shame the shot didn't quite match.

It was so quick and technically excellent from both nobody in the box had time to even throw a body part at it.

Trossard was the one bright spot from this abject performance. Found the space, used the ball intelligently, provided a threat. Basically did everything we lacked in the first half.

I'll absolve Lamptey from criticism as he was (a) played out of position and then (b) binned at half time. Bizarre. And please just don't even get me started on Propper.

As others have said, Tross only seems to do it when he comes off the bench. Otherwise he’s anonymous when he starts.

Really strange.

I have always considered Trossard an impact player. Nothing wrong with that as long as it gets results.

It's early days but Mac might be the same type of player.

in your opinion of course. I think he gets through a lot of decent work, unnoticed when he plays, an easy target IMO.

My guess is that when he comes on as a sub it's because we need him to attack.
A player of his talents can shine when up against tiring defences.

When he starts a game, the role probably has more defensive expectation, leaving him slightly on the back foot.

I'm hoping that he is just adjusting to his first season in the Prem.
3 goals and 3 assists isn't too shabby, hoping for more next season.

What a run and finish from the Belgian today. If we are to progress we need at least one player who can get 7 or 8 goals from midfield regularly. He could be that player.
