We're doing Beef Wellington this year...

and some sort of pudding I haven't thought of yet!

I do miss big fresh seafood buffets like my Mum does at home, loads of prawns, oysters, crab and then also cold hams and salads...but to be honest I reckon Christmas is better with a big hot dinner...

What are you having tomorrow?

I actually like sprouts, I think they are the highlight of the festive period as I don't get to eat them at other times.

We're having our main Xmas dinner tonight.

We always have a fry-up Xmas morning, but I have to be careful with it because much as I love the taste of a fry-up, they have an unerring ability to make me sick (literally) afterwards so I have to moderate myself.

That seafood platter sounds good to me.

We have a variety of meat and game for tomorrow. Turkey, mallard, partridge, venison, widgeon, partridge, woodcock, beef and some lamb that we kept especially from our flock this past summer.

As well as the usual veggies, bacon, sausages, home made stuffing, bread sauce, jellies etc.

Pudding here is a cheesecake that I am in the process of making, a lemon meringue pie if I can be bothered to make one, a plum pudding, trifle and I made some ice cream for the children over the weekend. As well as Christmas cake etc.

Edit to say that we have 19 adults and I think 12 children here tomorrow. That is not all just for my brood.

Oh my word, how do you have room for a curry after eating Turkey and everything? We eat our Xmas dinner at about 2ish, then cant eat another thing, the thought of a curry on top of all that makes me feel ill!!

I actually like sprouts, I think they are the highlight of the festive period as I don't get to eat them at other times.

The small ones are great - raw, believe it or not.

I tried to get a goose (wayHAAAY!!) today at Sainsbury's, but after they said they were sold out, then one turned up - it got put out again and someone just in front of me snagged it. Oh well, while I was there they reduced the prices on LOADS of things, and I got 2 ducks instead. Also grabbed a whole Norwegian salmon, some cod, leg of lamb and assorted other stuff at cut prices, so I'm sorted for about two weeks now.

I got a 'luxury' Xmas pud, and with some yoghurt to put over it, I'll do Christmas dinner up with duck (w/fruit sauce), pud, and quality port wine :whisky: .... and fish for tea.
