I'd take Rooney, Welbeck, Strurridge and Zamora (though i'd LOVE to see big Grant H going) as the BIG MAN option.

I DESPERATELY want to take Defoe but it would go completely against my whole belief that the player must have been playing games.

Oh screw that. Take Jermain. Best natural finisher we have.

Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge and Crouch (not a big fan, but his England record is top notch) I am a massive Defoe fan, but I wouldn't take him as he never performs for England to the ability he can.

Wayne Rooney, Peter Crouch, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck.

I would agree with that, it's a schame both Sturridge and Welbeck offer little other than a goald threat. I used to think Sturridge was the more complete young striker out of those two but watching him more recently he seems to have a run round like a headless chicken syndrom unless given the ball directly in front of goal.

The list makes pretty depressing reading IMO, if we are to get anywhere Rooney really needs to up his game in an England shirt.

Rooney - Suspended hence 5
Zamora - Target man
Defoe - Experience but maybe more for impact
Sturridge + Wellbeck - Not convinced which is better. Play one with Zamora and if needs be sub Bobby for Defoe and change of pace for final 3rd of match else like for like swapping the youngsters if one selected to start is having an inconsistent day (as young players do).

If/When Hodgson gets the job, I can see him going for Zamora, he knows how Bobby plays and what he can bring.

Rooney
Bobby
Jermain
Danny Welbeck
Daniel Sturridge

Sturridge often gets played out of position on the wing by Chelsea to acommodate Didier Drogba. He's a natural striker who a few months ago I thought could be one of the stars of Euro 2012.

There aren't that many good English strikers about. Leon Best can't get in the team at Newcastle and Darren Bent looks like he'll still be injured.

Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge and Holt.....maybe Crouch

Obviously we need a partnership for the first 2 games, so the friendlys coming up are quite crucial....but i really dont see the point in taking Defo.....people like him and Bent have had so many chances to prove themselves, so i would be ruthless and give other people a chance

You're probably right, we need one of Welbeck or Sturridge to come out firing, hopefully the coming friendlies will be a good indicator.

E: Shit, forgoter Darren Bent as well ^^ oh well.

Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck and Zamora (with my Albion head on, Graham without it, just to be different)

How can people still say Defoe after some of the shit he's served up for England and Tottenham recently? Discard him and take Welbeck or Crouch instead.

Scored more goals than Crouch/Defoe this season I think.

ps. This list is from the fantasy football in order of best performing strikers based on points received for goals / assists / not getting sent off.

I have gone Rooney, Wellback, Sturridge and Crouch but..

I have always wanted to see Walcott playing up front. He has the pace and finishing skills just not the dribbling or crossing required for a wide man. Would like, obviously after the first two games, for Walcott up front with Rooney behind him. No aerial threat so put balls through to them on the ground utilising their pace.
