What Siort of Building do you work in

I work in a crappy 60s building opposite St James's Park Station, which was once voted the ugliest building in London. If I look up, I can see some Ministers' and senior officials' cars. Otherwise, I can see the back wall of the Guards' Chapel and another wing of our building. However, at least we're in a small room. Next year, we move to Marsham Street to a brand spanking new building, which is in a much nicer area. However, we are going to be in a huge open plan room, and we will only be able to see the next building. And, like someone else wrote on here the other day, we have been filled with management speak.

I work in a dire building too - a seventies shoebox in the sky, with a clock on top that doesn't work and a view of the tax office out the window..... however if I ignore all that, and look a bit further out, I can see water and waves and clouds. Even when its a wild day weather wise - its very calming!! To the other side of the building I can see the downs.... rather lovely indeed.....

Our building is a converted chicken shed in the Gloucestershire countryside. They've added a reasonably modern bit to it, but it still looks like a shed!!
Just fields around but often see Prince Charles's Helicopter overhead and whenever we're at war, B52's coming in to land at Fairford airbase!

I work in a building leased by a government department. All I can see outside the window is another big, ugly, tall building.

When we were at school, and if we didn't have enough money or had been chucked out of the Golden Lion... my g/f (now wife) and I used to go out and buy a bag of cherries from the greengrocers... and sit in the middle of the roundabout eating them!

Those WERE the days!! :)

Today I am mostly working at a converted multi-storey stables in Shoreditch, the Victorian equivalent to multi-storey car parks. My view is of a large block flats with scaffolding and green netting around it, a disused railway line and a bit of a gasometer.

I work in a large red brick office on a grey industrial estate on the north-eastern side of Blackburn. My desk faces inwards, so I have my back to the window and there is a partition wall between my office and the one next door that has four windows in it. There's a girl sitting on the other side called Lisa who spends most of the day looking at Ebay.

Outside her window is the car park, beyond that is the main road and beyond that all I can see are chimneys and big factories that look like aircraft hangars. Everything is a kind of depressing grey colour, either concrete, tarmac or cloudy sky. It really is horrible.

:(

It sounds like you work in the administrative department of my mind.

Was Yvonne Fletcher shot from your window?

Nice bit of knowledge there, PTB. The way I heard it, she was shot from the Libyan embassy which is out the door and to the left a bit. The conspiracy theories that are plastered all over the web have it that she was shot from the top floor window here at number 8
