I had a similar request that I'd inherited some money from China not long ago from someone that had the same British name as me. It said not to show anybody the letter - then I promptly took it in to work to show everyone! I've never known anyone to write a letter sounding so desperate that I claim the money. I laughed my bollocks off reading it.

I'm the most cynical person in the world at things like this. There is ALWAYS a catch and even if there wasn't in this case, it's not morally right to claim money that isn't mine.
