Brain dead MUG SHEEP
If I were to compare the Albions season to a pudding, I would say it was rather like a Tesco cheesecake. Fairly pleasant without being overly exciting, and we choked on the bisuity base around halfway through which spoiled things somewhat, but then recovered to enjoy the rest of it, only to ultimately fall slightly short of what could have been a full-on M&S chocolate gateaux experience - perhaps a few strawberries on top might just have made the difference. Overall though, a great improvement on last years Happy Shopper stale squashed raspberry sponge.
With the likes of Thomson, Murray, Forster, Elphick and Lynch we have the basis of a decent team in this division. With a few additions in the summer (a leftback, a creative midfielder, a winger and perhaps another back-up striker and keeper) I think next year, with some fresh ingredients, we could be looking at a sherry trifle or perhaps if Wilkins gets really creative, we could even get a lemon meringue pie with caramelised base and a lightly crisped whipped cream topping and a dusting of cocoa (although I appreciate I might be getting a little carried away there).
