The owner of the MG says they used to go to the Swan at Arundel (on the Chi road) a lot. Can’t get a pick of back car park from the 80s online. Any investigators in the area?
Explain the
Bounced thread, raised expectation of the answer. MASSIVE letdown AGAIN.

People have been banned for far less than this inferno you have caused
I worked there in the 80s and I don't remember there being a public access to the back. The kitchen was on the back of the restaurant (to the right from the road) and the bar entrance was angled on the corner. It might be poor memory but I am also pretty sure it was quite dark inside which would not be consistent with the big windows. I have no photographic evidence though. The owner of the MG says they used to go to the Swan at Arundel (on the Chi road) a lot. Can’t get a pick of back car park from the 80s online. I’m happy for admins to close it and I’ll just post the definitive answer when/if it arrives. Like others I get rather excited when I’m notified of a new post.
So it was the Black Rabbit then, in front of what's now been redeveloped?
Yup. I'll buy that.
No wonder we didn't get it. It looks nothing like that now.
Black rabbit Arundel?
Quick update: the owner of the MG says (along with others on here) that it’s The Black Rabbit in Arundel. Still don’t believe it and think he’s ‘mis-remembering’ (horrible term). I feel like Quincy MD. ‘This was no simple heart attack’ etc etc.
Don’t think it is the black rabbit in arundel as that pub has had a veranda on the front for over 100 years
No way is it the Black Rabbit. Windows & roof line are totally wrong and there’s nowhere near enough space for a car to be parked at right angles to the road.
The search goes on...
Quite a few pictures of the Black Rabbit online from 1898 onwards. None of them look like the one in the photo.
This has to run. No proof that is The Black Rabbit.
I don't actually know the owner of the MG - as originally stated I was 'asking for a friend'. The MG owner is convinced it's the Black Rabbit but we've already answered that one I reckon.
This is what CAMRA gave back to me
Hi Matt.
Keith asked about this one. It seems to me to be c1970s maybe. The only thought I have is that it may be The Black Rabbit in Arundel Park.
All the best.
