At the risk of self-promotion (forgive me), I thought this episode of Exploring Emotional Overdraft was fantastic.

Paul talks about the fear of failure, his blackouts and reliance on alcohol. All whilst from the outside, he appeared to be doing so well. I'd love your feedback and think you'll enjoy this.

I used to regularly listen to The Wolf & Owl but I find Romesh Ranganathan a tedious, repetitive bloke these days. He’s just not that funny, is he?

Tom Davies is funny. Would be better if it were just him.

I've been listening to the British History Podcast for years. Now on episode 460 and it's reached the end of the 11th century, so it's not a sprint. Another shout for the excellent and wide-ranging Rest is History

Still mainly on my core listens

Chatabix (a podcast where they basically discuss how they have no ideas for a podcast. Just a lovely daily listen)
Down the Dog (John Richardson and Matt Forde. Has really taken on a new life since Forde almost lost his)
Elis James and John Robins
Ed Gamble and Matt Crosby (the radio X/XFM slot previously held by Adam and Joe, Gervais, Elis and John etc)
Theroux, Brydon, Adam Buxton are all excellent for interviews.
I believe Richard Herrings RHLSTP is still going but just a touring show now rather than primarily based at The Leicester Sq Theatre.

I've given Let's Be Having You a listen (00's football pod born from Quickly Kevin). I will probably stick with it but the trio just don't have the chemistry that Quickly Kevin had.

I am enjoying the nostalgia of soccer a-z podcast. Most of the crew from late 90s early 00s soccer am. It reminds me of my uni days and Saturday morning hangovers having great times with mates. Maybe I am having a midlife crisis, but it matters not. Lovejoy will start winding me up soon but it has been fun trip down memory lane.

I really like rest is politics US and the rest is entertainment. In fact I am going to watch the rest is entertainment live in Dec.

I still love Wolf and Owl (and Romesh) - I've been catching up with old ones and I think it's developed quite nicely. I don't think either of them will be everyone's cup of tea, but I don't think it would work with just one of them.

All podcasts have the same issue, keeping the content fresh, whilst maintaining it's core appeal..
I found that Peter Crouch podcast really interesting for the first year or so but after a while, it became really jarring.

For me, your pod is at it's best when there's a really interesting financial story to dig into.
That isn't going to be the case for the majority of the episodes.

Kevin Day is affable enough, but he isn't going to keep my limited attention span, for very long I'm afraid.

In short, I don't think you're doing anything wrong.
I have just reached the point where I have listened long enough, to get what I want from it.
I will definitely tune back in for the big financial stories though.

I’ve found ‘Not Another One’ an interesting new addition to the politics podcasts. 4 presenters with different viewpoints leads to proper discussion in my view. This weeks on the Budget is a good example.

Thanks. Will check it out. I do prefer political podcasts that have opposing views expressed (civilly). I enjoy the Spectator and New Statesman pods but they can be echo chambers sometimes.

As well as a lot of the ones mentioned here, I quite like 'The Famous Sloping Pitch' for its take on modern football. Nick Hancock (not the greatest comedian, granted) and Chris England. The Oldham and Stoke section is getting a bit tired but the subjects they cover either side of that usually include a couple of things I've missed that week and can be quite amusing. Basically, do you like old gits moaning about football? Of course you do, you're reading North Stand Chat.
