What planet is Tony Adams on?

Does he honestly think he'd seriously be considered for the Celtic job? Then again, they did appoint John Barnes! I know Celtic fans feel that Roberto Martinez is not the big name they wanted, but he has to be one of the hottest managerial properties around at the moment.

Former Portsmouth boss Tony Adams says he is in the frame to become the new Celtic manager should the club appoint Wim Jansen as technical director.

Adams said Celtic approached Jansen, who recommended Adams. But the Glasgow club have denied he is a candidate.

"When Celtic approached Wim he very kindly said that Tony Adams was the man they needed to go and get," said Adams.

"I'm very interested. I do love winning things, so it does appeal but as of yet, no phone calls."

He's unwittingly one of the funniest men (and worst managers) in football.

The mainstream media who fawn around all things Premier League all assumed that Tony Adams would be a managerial genius simply because of his playing career and "inspirational" character.

But being so Premier League obsessed, they failed to notice what the likes of us did right away when he was boss at Wycombe Wanderers: that is to say he is utterly clueless. I've watched football for many years now, and it's not often I've seen anyone look so completely lost as he did when we battered Wycombe at Withdean one year.

Two manager's jobs, two complete, shambolic failures...yep, I'd say you were definitely in the running for that Celtic job Tony...perhaps best not sit by the phone waiting for them to call though, yeah?

When he was appointed Pompey boss I just about crashed my car when I heard on five live lee dixon claiming that Tony Adam's ideas on football were too advanced for the Wycombe players...

He's a thinker, and needs time to implement his ideas and strategies, sadly in football management these days time is a commodity that very few get.

My favourite line is this story is: "you have a 50% chance of winning something up there."

No, Tony, you don't. If you are shit, and Rangers are managed by Walter Smith, you have precisely 0% chance of winning anything.

How cool would it be if Celtic brought in Tony "I love winning things" Adams and Rangers replaced Walter Smith with Micky "it was MOTHERWELL" Adams.

The Scottish league would surely be the shittest professional league around, but at least it would be close between half the league again.

He has been a complete failure at everything in his life apart from kicking the crap out of proper footballers. He's a complete loser. He depresses people. When he starts speaking people start crying and jumping off cliffs. Decent managers make a quick assessment and get results. Slade turned us from utter no hopers into an outfit that got results and got out of trouble. Look at the Premier League. Hiddink, Mourinho - even Harry or Hodgson - they get results, they manage people, they improve things. This guy is a prize loser. He should stick to the bottle - it's all he's good at.
