A nurdle is a shot where you aren't trying to hit the ball too hard. You push or paddle the ball, typically behind square. It's ball hitting bat as much as bat hitting ball. Can be a slightly derrogatory term for a nudge rather than a shot.

I'm starting to feel that how shockingly bad the Indians have been is taking a little of the shine off becoming World Number 1 test team.
I was really looking forward to this series being very tight and some excellent and exciting 5th day finishes to games. India have been a total let down.

Here here, surprised how England are being so hard on India, the game is far from over so why are they bowling short and sledging still?
