Get a Blackberry 7100, they're more phone like. Though you do loose the keyboard, so its usefullness is down to whether you use it to send or just recieve email.

I am due an upgrade on my contract phone with vodafone. I do not need anything fancy as I only use calls texts, occasional radio but not important and the same with camera. What I do need, due to my hearing, is one with a loud ringtone and loud reception. Any suggestions?

Work have just given me an 8800 and I love it. You do feel a bit of a knob using it as a phone because of it's size, but it really is the dogs bollox.
