Criteria:-
1. Result
2. Performance
3. Context of the Match (Cup Tie/Promotion decider/top of table etc)
4. Environment (Stadium/ Terraces etc)
5. How much you want to get one over on opposition supporters/ manager etc
6. Weather ?
7. Other activities before & after the game ?
8. Others (suggest your own)?

For me, yesterday ticked most of the boxes (particularly 1-4). Only surpassed by Highbury & Wembley in 1983.
Comparable to Molyneux in 1979 (Wardy Hat Trick) and Anfield in 1983 (even though I was on the Kop !)

1 and 2 are imperative. A win and a good performance automatically have a positive affect on the atmosphere (no 4).

Other activities before the game is also quite important. A prime example being at Yates in Southampton last year. For me its all about the build up and pre match atmosphere just as much as the match itself.

The pubs. The train journey. 3000 + Spurs singing "Oh When The Spurs.." .
Etc.

Result, opposition, performance, context, turnout, pre and post match beers.

Result and performance are central. That Sussex cricket final at Lord's against Hamphire was in theory 'a great day out', but knowing from about midday you were going to lose did spoil it a bit.
